ICAT Logistics Expands their Leading Agency Partner Program with New Partnership and New Hire to its Executive Team

Addition of new ICAT BOI office and Keith Buford as Director of International Business Development positions ICAT for continued growth and expansion into the international marketplace

Elkridge, MD- June 21, 2012- ICAT Logistics, Inc., the #1 agency-based freight forwarder in the U.S., announced today the expansion of their Agency Partner Program with the signing of Lewis Transport Logistics, LLC, now known as, ICAT BOI in Boise, Idaho. This latest ICAT Agency Partner addition assists the company with growing their Agency Partner Program and deepens their international footprint. As ICAT’s new Executive Director of International Business Development, Keith Buford will be responsible for driving and expanding their international business efforts.

When recruiting agency partners, ICAT targets agencies who are entrepreneurial, have an established book of business, are located in markets ICAT doesn’t already have market share, and who are driven to grow and expand their business.  ICAT BOI will target the Agriculture, Aerospace/Defense and Electronics markets as well as be focused on serving a large international customer base, which aligns with ICAT’s current international business growth goals. As part of the Agency Partner Program, ICAT BOI will be participating in ICAT’s ‘ICAT Way,’ an extensive turnkey recruiting, training and development program that all agency partners participate in on the offset of the partnership. Moving forward, ICAT  will continue to provide ICAT BOI with “behind the scenes” support and the tools they need to improve their sales, marketing, training, human resources, management, IT, and operations to set them on the path for continued growth. The Agency Partner Program at ICAT has received outstanding testimonials for its success, and assisted their longest tenured partner, ICAT DTW, to grow 35% from 2010-2011. As ICAT’s newly-appointed Director of International Business Development, Keith Buford will also be focused on increasing ICAT’s international footprint through his industry contacts and expertise, in order to double ICAT’s 2011 international operations. Fluent in numerous languages and having lived in several countries, including China, Buford brings a proven track record of helping companies to expand their international operations.  He has worked on both sides of the business, as an agency owner and a corporate team member, and brings a wealth of knowledge of the needs and challenges both sides face. Buford also brings decades of experience in sales and operations management, making him uniquely qualified for this role, and a true asset to the ICAT team.  Before joining the ICAT team in 2012, Buford began his freight career in 1986 and has held various positions and titles throughout his career, including international clerk, sales, part-owner, owner, Managing Director and VP of International.
