Easter is a little ways away but there are still some hopping good times to be had this weekend.

Where/When: Elkridge Elementary School on Friday, April 8, at 7 p.m.
Why Go: See some of Elkridge's up-and-coming performers. Bring a donation for the Elkridge Food Pantry, too.

Where/When: Arbutus United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 9, at 10 a.m.
Why Go: Celebrate Easter (a few weeks early) by hunting for eggs.

- CHILDREN'S DISCOVERY FAIR
Where/When: Howard County Library East Columbia Branch on Saturday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why Go: Get your little ones ready for school at this fun fair for kids between the ages of 3 and 5.

- BIRDING HIKE
Where/When: Halethorpe Ponds at 5120 South St. in Halethorpe on Sunday, April 10, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Why Go: Calling all bird-watchers! Wear sturdy shoes, bring some water and be prepared to go on a one-mile hike. This is great for kids ages 12 and older.

- SENSITIVE EASTER BUNNY
Where/When: The Mall in Columbia on Sunday, April 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Why Go: Hosted by the Howard County Autism Society, this is for kids who sensitive to crowds, loud noises and other external stimulation. Kids can meet the Easter Bunny in a safe environment (before the mall opens).
