Assault, Three Break-Ins Around Rockburn
The incidents took place Tuesday and Wednesday.
In the past week, several crimes have been reported in and around Rockburn Branch Park in Elkridge.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, an assault reportedly took place at the park. No further information was provided by police about the incident.
Between 1 and 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, there was an attempted break-in at a residence on the 5300 block of Landing Road. Police said that a screen was cut from an unsecured window, and nothing was reported missing.
During that same timeframe, a knife was stolen from another residence on the 5300 block of Landing Road. Police said that a panel of glass had been removed from the back door to gain entry.
A shed in Rockburn Branch Park on Landing Road was reportedly broken into between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 11 a.m. Wednesday. Police said that a padlock had been pried open, and nothing was reported stolen.
"No determinations have yet been made regarding the Landing Road incidents," said Bryce Buell, spokesman for the Howard County Police Department. "However, when burglaries occur in groups by location, time or method, we actively look into the possibility they may be connected."
Buell said: "The assault at Rockburn Park appears to be unrelated."
