Aaron Herschman and "Catfish," who most recently served in what they called "Iraqistan," belong to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association's Maryland chapter, a club that requires documentation of service before granting membership.

Herschman and Catfish said their Veterans Day plan was daylong. They were meeting at Daniels at 7 a.m. on Friday before taking a ride with other members to visit veterans in retirement homes.

"We’re not a fair-weather group,” said Herschman, of the Maryland Combat Vets.

“You have to be able to go the distance. We don’t ride 25 miles, get drunk and get off," continued Herschman, who has gone on multiple missions since his first deployment in Desert Storm. "We’ll ride a couple hundred miles to do charity rides and then go on another one from there. That kind of defines us; it's the personality of our group."

At the end of Veterans Day, the two said they would head back to Daniels for its ; Catfish noted that his wife, who served in Iraq during the time he was there, will be at Daniels too.
