Well Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore. Wait, you're not Toto either. Does that mean we're in Glen Burnie.

So..... what genius' hat DID this rabbit get pulled from?????? I, for one, was very disappointed that "they" (whoever THEY are) decided to put this garish creation in front of our little library/senior center. I'm further appalled that they would allow the incredibly stunning "sea life" art (true artisanship) that was created on the front of the library be so grossly upstaged by this pink concoction! From what I understand, that gorgeous fish artwork was spearheaded by a former EES art teacher (whom I believed has since passed away from cancer) and her students and is a TRUE legacy to Elkridge. Unfortunately, there seems to be a blatant lack of respect for Elkridge, and it's very disheartening... especially when you've lived here all your life and you actually take pride in your hometown! Of course, it would also be nice if Elkridge had a REAL state-of-the-art library AND a separate senior center that was more of an honest-to-goodness planned effort than what represents more of a half-hearted afterthought. The Elkridge community (and especially our senior citizens) deserve better! Too bad the pepto rabbit can't disappear quick as... well, a bunny.

A new library is on the books for Elkridge to the tune of 11M. Course that might be a little more expensive by the time they build it. The new one off Frederick Road is stellar. Also Columbia is due for the same. Howard County has 22M in the plans for libraries. I feel the pain from the tax bite already.

Is this the READER RABBIT? Either way pink flamingos and pink rabbits belong at the George Howard Building where there are lots of controversial things going on.

...and the frightened, beleaguered (pink) bunny, and his merry band of (pink) flamingo accomplices, were last spotted fleeing under the cover of darkness, in hopes of finding a place where tolerance, acceptance, and most of all, civility, are much more than just a clever slogan on a bumper sticker.
The end.

Why it is pink I have no idea. But the rabbit has a place there near Hunt Club. After all that is what it once was before it was ever developed in the early 60's......

I never quite understood why the bright pink bunny they chose for Elkridge. An elk would have made sense, but the pink birds definitely give it more appeal. LOL. Made me laugh!

@Betsy has there ever even been an Elk in Elkridge? I always wondered about that one. We do have LOTS of bunnies, though. I also think it's kinda silly and makes little sense, but it still makes me smile to see it. It's quirky, not corporate, implies no agenda whatsoever, and has no affiliation with land developers :) I think we could use more things like it. Who cares if it makes sense, it's better than looking at apartment buildings and red traffic lights, right?
