LuAyne Barber of Hanover—better known as "Lulu"—got America talking after her pole dancing routine aired on network TV this week.
On Monday's episode of America's Got Talent, Lulu delivered what The Baltimore Sun called a "jaw-dropping" performance.
Through her moves around the pole set to Etta James' "I Just Want to Make Love to You," the fiery redhead from Hanover won over judge Howie Mandel and the show's host Nick Cannon.
"Today, Hanover is on the map as the hometown of Lulu," wrote The Washington Examiner in its coverage of the performance.
Celebrity judges Howard Stern and Sharon Osbourne voted against the dancer, generating boos from the audience.
"I don't think this is a million-dollar act," said Stern.
The NBC show, which holds auditions to find the most talented person in the country, awards the winner a million-dollar prize at the end of the season.
While Lulu won't be on future episodes of America's Got Talent, she has been on Inside Edition and was featured in The Daily Mail for her participation in the sport of pole dancing, which traditionally tends to run small.
"I'm out to show people that this isn't a size 2 form of fitness," said Lulu on Facebook. "Any age and and size can do this!!"

Yes, jaw dropping performance, but not in a good way. It was embarrassing, to say the least .

I'll say one thing, Lulu has guts to spare.
