Maryland's Batman, Elmo, in Howard County Saturday
The Saturday fundraiser benefits The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc.
Here’s a fun weekend event for a good cause to put on your list of possible things to do: Child-Fest will be held Saturday in Fulton and will feature a line-up of kid-friendly celebrities, as well as games and other activities designed to raise money to help fight childhood cancer.
The fifth annual Child-Fest 2012, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Reservoir High School, 11550 Scaggsville Road in Fulton, is free, but money you spend on food and activities will help benefit The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc., organizers said.
Here’s who will be there:
- Kevin Clash, the man who grew up in Dundalk and went on to be the voice of Elmo.
- Two of Elmo’s Sesame Street friends, Abbie Caddabby (Leslie Carrara) and Rosita (Carmen Osbahr)
- The Kangaroo Kids jump roping team.
- Maryland’s Batman, AKA Lenny B. Robinson of Owings Mills—a businessman and graduate of Pikesville High School.
- Dennis Pitta, of the Ravens
The event raised $28,000 for the organization last year and has attracted 2,500 people in the past, said Roseann Verrilli, an administrative assistant with The Children’s Cancer Foundation, Inc., based in Owings Mills.
