Power Outages Reported in Elkridge Friday Afternoon

Were you trapped in the Elkridge library? We found someone who was.

With a severe thunderstorm watch in effect, the utility company BGE got prepared, issuing a statement Friday morning that it had 500 workers at the ready.

By 4:15 p.m., more than 2,500 customers in Howard County were without power, and the majority were concentrated in Elkridge, according to BGE.

Even without power, Elkridge was buzzing on Twitter. Here's what people were saying:

They prolly shut off Elkridge's power because it's too hot, like they did last year.

Never fear, it's possible to open the library doors without electricity.
