Two Elkridge Residences Ransacked in Pair of Break-Ins

Police said the incidents on Deborah Jean and Bellanca drives may be related.

Two residences in Elkridge were broken into Thursday, according to police.

Jewelry was stolen from the 5800 block of Deborah Jean Dr., said police, after a daytime break-in on Feb. 9.

Between 8:50 a.m. and 5:55 p.m. on Thursday, a back door was broken and the place ransacked.

Less than a half mile away, on the 5800 block of Bellanca Dr., a residence was broken into through a sliding glass door and also ransacked.

Police said that it has not yet been determined what was stolen. The Bellanca Drive break-in occurred between 10:50 a.m. and 2:40 p.m. on Thursday.

"Police are looking at similarities between the burglaries to determine if they are related," said Elizabeth Schroen, spokeswoman for the Howard County Police Department.
