Goodys Folkart Grand Re-opening!

Our friends at Goodys Folkart will be having a grand re-opening picnic on September 22, 2012. See the attached flyer for more information. They will be holding a raffle for one of their hand-carved santas, with the proceeds split between Elkridge Heritage Society and the Elkridge Food Pantry. There will be food and door prizes. Please come show your support for a local Elkridge business and these worthy causes.

In other Elkridge Heritage Society news, the work on the Brumbaugh House is underway, with new discoveries causing changes to our plan, as these things often happen. The clapboard that we exposed in the back does not continue around the whole house, so we have to leave up the cedar shakes after all. Work is progressing quickly!

UPDATE! The Goody's picnic will basically be all day - 10am to 5pm. I went to the store today and oh my, how lovely! I added some more pictures. I got the grand tour, and you should keep your eye out for notices of wood-carving classes by Harold, and sewing and painting classes by Anna. Their work is excellent, and I was very enthralled with the whole ambiance of the store, the quality of their work, and their various work rooms. Please go see them! The weather was great, the food was good, decent turnout and we raised $50.00 with the Santa raffle. Winner was Garry McKinney from West Virginia. Sorry for not having pics but we were too busy feeding everybody and keeping the food replenished and fresh. Great time good to see old customers and friends and we have already decided it do it again next year.
