Ophthalmologists from the Sinai Hospital’s Krieger Eye Institute will offer A FREE diabetic eye and cataract screening on September 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. and the Institute’s Quarry Lake Office, 2700 Quarry Lake Drive, Suite 180, Baltimore, 21209. The diabetic eye screening is for those who are diabetic, or have been just recently diagnosed with diabetes. Pre-registration is required.

More of such free screenings should be introduced to many more cities and states. Sometimes, patients of diabetes have no idea that their illness is closely linked to eye diseases, especially cataracts. Thus, with such screening programmes put in place, patients can have any eye problems detected early and early treatments can be carried out like laser surgery etc, before the condition gets worst.
