Baltimore County police have identified a woman who was struck by a train and killed in Rosedale Friday afternoon.
April Marie Jones, 22, of the 7900 block of Oakdale Avenue in Rosedale, was walking along the tracks shortly after 4 p.m., according to a statement issued by Ofc. Shawn Vinson, a police spokesman.
A CSX freight train struck Jones near the intersection of Batavia Farm Road and Duvall Avenue about a mile from her home. The train stopped about 100 yards from the intersection near the Chesaco Avenue bridge.
Jones was declared dead at the scene. The incident appears accidental, Vinson said.
