9 Tornadoes Reported in Maryland in Friday’s Storm

Trees were down and a barn roof was peeled off.

 

Nine tornadoes touched down in six counties across Maryland during Friday's storm, according to the National Weather Service.

Tornadoes were reported in Howard, Montgomery, Carroll, Harford, Prince George’s and Anne Arundel counties, according to the National Weather Service.

There were damages reported across the state, including Elkridge, according to National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center data, and  as high winds and heavy rain hit accompanied the storm.

  • A tree was reported down on US 1 at Rowanberry Drive in Elkridge at 2:20 a.m. on Saturday.
  • Officials at BWI Airport  at about 7:20 p.m. Friday.
  • A tornado reported one mile west of Damascus in Montgomery County caused damage mainly to trees, and a portion of a barn roof was peeled off. Damage was also reported to several homes.
  • Two tornadoes reported in Carroll County uprooted and snapped trees. One was two miles southeast of Mount Airy and another was three miles northwest of Gamber, there were uprooted and snapped trees.
  • There were uprooted and snapped trees as a result of a brief tornado reported one mile northwest of Springdale in Prince George’s County.
