Why to go: The superstars of TNA Impact Wrestling, as seen weekly on SPIKE TV, are invading Bowie.

Why to go:  Howard County’s Farmers' Markets feature the season’s freshest locally-grown produce, baked goods, fruits of the season, flowers, transplants, organically grown produce and specialty items.

Why to go:  Cooking sessions open to novices and experts.

When: Sept. 1, 2, 3, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Description:  The 36th Annual Maryland Renaissance Festival celebrates the Renaissance era with period costumes, actors, games, food and more.

Where: Inner Harbor, Light Street and Pratt Street, Baltimore

When:  Aug. 31-Sept. 2

Why to go:  Downtown Baltimore is transformed into a high-speed raceway for Indy-style cars. The three-day event will feature the Indy 500 and IZOD IndyCar Series, as well as the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron.

LABOR DAY RIDE SPECIAL:  Monday, Sept. 3rd from 10 a.m. to close.  Fairgoers pay $22 to ride an unlimited number of rides.

Pricing: Adult admission $8, Senior admission (62 & over) $6, Children (6 to 11) $3, children 5 and under are admitted FREE (Rides are not included).

Description:  Jilly's trivia night, where prizes include $50 for first place, $25 for second and $10 for third.
