Feast at Elkridge Firehouse, Race in Centennial Park: Weekend To-Do List

Police race in Ellicott City, shrimp and bull roast in Elkridge and other activities are on tap this weekend.

  • Where: Howard County Fairgrounds Exhibition Building (2210 Fairgrounds Rd.) in West Friendship
    When: 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8.
    Why Go: There will be 140 booths with clothes for everyone, newborns to teens.

  • Where:   in Elkridge
    When: 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8
    Why Go: Pit beef, turkey, ham, shrimp, oyster fritter are some foods on the menu at this event sponsored by the Auxiliary at the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department. There will be live music too.
    Pricing: $40
  • Where:  5876 Thunder Hill Rd. in Columbia
    When: 7 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9
    Why Go: There will be on-ice games, fun hockey activities inside and outside the rink, an equipment swap, and more.  
    Pricing: Free
  • Where:  in Ellicott City
    When: 8:30 a.m. on  Sunday, Sept. 9
    Why Go: Head up to Rt. 108 to Woodland Road and follow the paved foot path around the lake to support the police foundation.
    Pricing: $35
