Golf like a Girl and Ride Like the Wind in Howard County this Weekend

Celebrating Women Riders

  • Description:  Men and Women unite to celebrate the growing female riding community.  There will be a discussion and book signing, a tech session providing general maintenance and roadside safety and a group ride to Iron Bridge Wine Company.

LPGA/USGA Golf Clinic "For Girls”

  • Where: Fairway Hills Golf Course
  • When: Sunday, June 8 from 1 - 3 p.m.
  • Description: Young female golfers are invited to Fairway Hills Golf Club this Sunday, June 8, for a free golf clinic sponsored by the Ladies Professional Golf Association, the United States Golf Association, and The First Tee of Howard County.

FREE "Boot Camp in the Park"

  • Description:  Starcom Design Build is hosting a bath and kitchen showroom open house.

4th Annual North Laurel Community Fair

  • Where:  9105 All Saints Rd, Laurel
  • When:  Saturday, June 8, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  There will also be over 25 human service agencies to provide resources and information about their services, including BGE, Howard County Housing, DVC, FIRN, NAACP and more.  There will be moon bounces, music and activities for the whole family.  The fair is free and open to the public.

Maryland ProStart Wine Dinner Celebration

  • Where:  3800 Ten Oaks Road, Glenelg
  • When:  Sunday, June 9, 5 p.m. or 7 p.m.
  • Description:  Award-winning menu will be presented, paired with complementary wines to raise money for the ProStart Program in Maryland.
  • Cost: $50

Capital Jazz Fest

  • Where:  10475 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia
  • When:  Friday, June 7 – Sunday, June 9
  • Description:  The festival features over 30 national acts on two big stages. This year's talent lineup includes Will Downing, Bob James & David Sanborn, Robert Glasper Experiment, Gerald Albright & Norman Brown, Chaka Khan, Marcus Miller, Eric Benet, Dave Koz, Ledisi, and many more.

So You Want to Run for Office

  • Where:  3430 Court House Dr, Ellicott City
  • When:  Saturday, June 8, 9 a.m.
  • Description:  2 expert panels of candidates and treasurers will discuss and take questions from the audience on what it takes to run a political campaign. Participants will learn about campaigning, promotion, fundraising, and the expectations of the county and state in terms of reports, paperwork, and proper authorization.
  • Cost: Free
