Hop on over and join Howard County Arts Council, Howard County Library System, Howard County Tourism & Promotion, and Blossoms of Hope for a special Cherrybration Days unveiling of the first installation of ARTsites 2012. Pink Rabbit, by artists Trisha Kyner and David Friedheim, will be revealed at the Elkridge Branch Library, along with pictures of the other 11 sculptures set to be installed at sites throughout the county.

Howard County Council Chair Mary Kay Sigaty will be making remarks, as will Howard County Library Chief Executive Officer Valerie Gross and Howard County Arts Council Executive Director Coleen West. County Executive Ken Ulman, local and state public officials, representatives of the sites participating in ARTsites, and leaders in the arts community have been invited to celebrate at this kick-off of ARTsites.

ARTsites 2012 is a year-long outdoor public art exhibit that will take place at 12 sites throughout Howard County. The goal of ARTsites 2012 is to place sculpture throughout Howard County in order to generate interest in public art and make art more accessible to the community. The sculpture will serve as visual anchor points that will enhance and activate community spaces. Furthermore, the multi-site exhibit will serve as a visual celebration of Howard County Arts Council’s 30 year history of fostering the arts and bringing the arts to community life.
