Ducketts Lane Elementary School Prepares to Open
All are welcome at an open house in Elkridge Sunday.
Students and their families will get the opportunity for a sneak peek inside the new Ducketts Lane Elementary School Sunday before classes begin the following day.
The Howard County Public School system is celebrating its 41st elementary school with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house from 1-3 p.m. Aug. 25.
After the ribbon cutting ceremony, Ducketts Lane Principal Heidi Balter and school staff members will give tours and answer questions. There will also be light refreshments and music by Long Reach High School students.
The school, located at 6501 Ducketts Lane, has a capacity for 600 students, drawing from Bellows Spring, Elkridge, Rockburn and Waterloo elementary schools, according to HCPS.
