Casino Opening Attracts More Than 10,000 Guests

Maryland Live! releases numbers from opening night.

 

Maryland's newest casino opened Wednesday with and more guests than got in the door.

More than 10,000 people entered on opening night, according to casino representatives.

There were 1,500 employees in attendance and thousands of visitors who weren't able to get in due to long lines, reported The Baltimore Sun.

There are two other casinos in Maryland: Hollywood in Perryville with 1,500 slot machines, and the Casino at Ocean Downs, with 800 slot machines.

Maryland Live! is the largest, with 3,200 machines in place now and 1,500 more coming by October.
