Christmas Tree Shopping in Elkridge

Tree lot on Old Washington Road donates to charity.

The day after Thanksgiving,  got a new neighbor.

For the holiday season, Old Washington Road is temporarily home to a mini forest of pine trees, wreaths, a giant wooden reindeer and a smoky fire pit.

On the lot, which is visible from Route 1 but only accessible from Old Washington Road, several types of trees are available—Fraser, Scotch pine and Douglas firs. Most trees cost about $55 or $65; however, prices range from $35 to $150.

James Boswell, who runs the lot, also owns Baltimore-based Garden Springs Landscaping. Each year, Boswell donates 10 percent from every sale in Elkridge to Sadie's Gift, a fund that supports doctor training and family support at Johns Hopkins Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

The tree lot at 6370 Old Washington Road in Elkridge is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
