Persimmon Anticipates January Re-Opening

Delays have pushed the opening, but a restaurant spokesperson told DC Eater that Persimmon should reopen its doors soon.

Get ready: neighborhood restaurant Persimmon could reopen as soon as February, according to a DC Eater report.

The restaurant closed in July for renovations and had planned to reopen in October. Delays have pushed the opening, but a restaurant spokesperson told DC Eater that Persimmon should reopen its doors soon.

“Persimmon hopes to re-open by the end of January but it could be February, unexpected set backs always happen with renovations,” Megan Darnall told DC Eater. “It is looking good so far and we are anxious to get back up and running as soon as possible.”

When the decade old restaurant reopens, customers should see changes including a brighter interior and a more relaxed atmosphere. Specifically, there should be no tablecloths, foods will be served in smaller portions and dishes will be less extravagant.

"We’re trying to take some of the stuffiness out of the place," Damian Salvatore, who runs Persimmon with his wife, Stephanie, told Bethesda Magazine this summer.
