Salon Allure Closes, Owes $20,000 to Landlord

The hair salon opened in August 2011 and closed in July 2012.

Less than a year after opening,  has closed.

According to court records, the hair salon owed more than $20,000 in payments to the owner of Meadowridge Business Park where it was located on Route 1 at Business Parkway.

Manekin LLC, the landlord, filed a complaint on June 26 with the Howard County District Court, which ruled July 6 that the salon owed Manekin $20,960.18.

A representative from Manekin who was inside the salon on July 31 told Patch the business had closed and she did not know when.

A stylist who has since relocated sent cards to clients postmarked July 9 stating that "d[ue] to the economy, Salon Allure had to close their doors."

Salon Allure . At the time, the owner did not wish to be named because he didn't want to compromise his full-time job in another industry. He could not be reached for comment for this article.

Across Business Parkway, another entrepreneur recently closed up shop, citing financial woes. Mexican restaurant El Nayar, which opened its Elkridge location in 2006, had its last day at Meadowridge Business Park II on July 20. The owner told Patch she owed approximately $600,000 to creditors.
