Spring Stays at Bay

Here's the weekend forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

Spring 2013 begins next week, on March 20, but temperatures Friday will have that not-quite-winter, not-quite-spring feel, according to the National Weather Service

Friday, expect cloudy skies and temperatures reaching about 55 degrees. There’s a 40 percent chance of rain late Friday night, with temperatures in the high-30s.

Saturday will bring more rain; there’s an 80 percent chance of precipitation during the day and we could see up to a quarter of an inch. Temperatures will reach the mid-40s during the day. There’s a 60 percent chance that the rain will continue into Saturday night, when temperatures drop to the mid-30s.

No rain is in the forecast during the day Sunday, just partly sunny skies with highs in the mid-40s, dropping to the mid-30s at night. There is, however, a 40 percent chance of rain at night.

Monday, two days before the first day of spring, there is 50 percent a chance of rain and snow in the morning, turning to rain as temperatures rise to the mid-40s.
