Visions for Vacancies: Frank's Nursery

You tell us. What should occupy the space where Frank's Nursery used to be?

Frank's Nursery went bankrupt in 2004. Since then, the building at Tollgate and Reisterstown roads has sat vacant.

What once held a nursery where area residents could go for all of their gardening needs is now a dilapidated building with a neglected parking lot.

What sort of business do you think would you like to see in this space? Tell us in the comments.

Is there a commercial vacancy you'd like to discuss? If so be sure to email editor Marc Shapiro (marc.shapiro@patch.com) and maybe it will be featured in the next Visions for Vacancies.

I'd like to see a trade school there that could teach various skills associated with the maintenance and restoration of neglected buildings...

With a full scale 'Recession' looming on the horizon, the money people are holding pat. If people vote for the right representatives favoring business, many of these vacant properties show promise of restoration and opening with new entreprenuars. Four more years with Mr. Socialism, and the whole country will go down in flames !

How about rides like a Merry Go Round? (Get it? That's what the store was when the building was first built back in the 70's!)

I still miss the Highs that used to be next to Franks. Good cheap coffee and single dip cones that were like doubles anywhere else.
