McDonald's Employee Says She Won Mega Millions

A mother of seven who works at a Westport McDonald's told the New York Post she has the winning Mega Millions ticket sold in Maryland.

 

A Westport McDonald's employee says she's the one who bought ticket at the 7-Eleven in Milford Mill.

She said she bought one for herself individually and also some in a pool at the McDonald's, according to a New York Post report.

Carole Everett, director of communications for Mega Millions, told Patch she has no news on who the winner is, "and to tell you the truth, I don't expect someone to walk through that door today."

A message on the media line says it was a "gentleman" who purchased the Maryland ticket.

On Saturday morning, the that one of three winning Mega Millions tickets had been sold at the 7-Eleven at 8014 Liberty Road.

The payout of $656 million is the largest in history, according to the announcement. The other two tickets were sold in Illinois and Kansas, according to a news release from Mega Millions issued Sunday.

At 5 a.m. Saturday, Pikesville Patch was at the Milford Mill store and the clerk and store manager had not yet heard that they had sold a winning ticket.

But by 7 a.m., TV crews and area residents to see whether the winner would arrive.

That day, the Maryland Lottery was there, announcing that the store had sold a winning ticket. It had been sold at 7:15 p.m. Friday night. However, the winner did not show that day.

Milford Mill residents to hear that a winning ticket was sold nearby. One resident said she hopes the winner—if a local resident—will decide to give some money to help the community.
