What Would You Ask Wegmans?

Patch is meeting with Wegmans officials on Wednesday. What would you ask them?

On Wednesday, Patch is scheduled to meet with a number of officials from Wegmans to discuss the new store opening on June 17.

To make sure we find answers to all the community's questions, Patch is inviting local residents to submit questions they might have about Columbia's newest grocery store in the comments section.

We'll then take those questions and pose them to the Wegmans officials at our meeting.

The officials include local store manager Wendy Webster, consumer relations director Jo Natalie and community relations manager Linda Lovejoy.

Whether you want to know the square footage of the store, the number of employees, the proposed hours of operation, whether there will be a cafe, what types of fruit they'll sell or about potential traffic problems, there is no question too big or too small.

So what do you want to know about Wegmans new Columbia location?

Oh, Julia, that is a GREAT question. Because I plan on going, but I am concerned about crowds...

The garage appears to be more than one level. Will there be upper exits from the store to the upper levels of the garage, or are there elevators in the garage that can handle a shopping cart?

Passing along a tweet from HowChowBlog, who also does a great job covering food and Wegmans-related stuff in his site: http://howchow.blogspot.com/ "Questions: Local products? How did they specialize Col store for local market? Mgr's fav 2-3 items? Unusual prepared foods?"

Will there be dedicated bicycle parking, such as a bike rack in front of the entrance?

Giant and Safeway have been in Columbia forever. The county finally has other choices as well. Wegmans isn't like any other supermarket, but Between Safeway, Giant, Harris Teeter, Trader Joe's, and Food Lion, which do you think does the best job?
