What Do You Think is Replacing Loehmann's?

A new tenant is coming to Gateway Overlook, according to a shopping center representative.

 

Loehmann's cleared out of its spot in Elkridge more than a year ago, and the space is about to be filled.

"I have a deal that we are very close to executing," Steve Krupinski, director of asset management for WRIT, told Patch on May 29. WRIT owns the Gateway Overlook shopping center, where the store was located.

In December 2010,  as the discount retailer underwent a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.

While Krupinski said the name of the incoming tenant is confidential, he told Patch it will be a "permanent deal."

There may be a temporary tenant in the interim, said Krupinski, before the permanent one moves in.

Last fall, the  leading up to the October holiday. Since then, the space has been vacant.
