a fun event or not

For an event that is supposed to be fun for the family the star spangled event down at the harbor is not a lot of fun for people. Why is that you may think well it’s because of the police. I stopped by frankfurst ave down near harbor hospital and there was a lot of people off the road and parked on the grass. And they were not fighting everybody was having fun, but the police showed up and started telling people to vacate the area because there was signs on the polls that said no stopping. But the fact is that there are not a lot of spots that are available for people to go and watch the event. A lot of the people that I talked to when I stopped by said that  the person that owned the property next to it said as long as the people do not go past the fence then he had no problem with people sitting and parking there on the side of the road and on the grass. Now keep in mind that the police came by and started writing tickets to everybody that would not leave, and people were not causing any traffic problems in fact there was hardly any traffic on the road at all. One person I spoke with said “Why can’t they just park a cop at the top of the hill and tell the traffic that was no coming down for the event to slow down?” another person I spoke with said “I don’t understand why they cant close the road down for a few hours and let people watch the event and then leave”. From what I saw there was no problem with anybody sitting there to watch the event. Keep in mind it’s a Saturday and Sunday  andlittle to no work traffic on the road, and that this is a Once and a lifetime event and they could have made a expection for the 4 hours of the event with no problems for the 2 days
