3 Things to Know About Elkridge Today: May 22

On this day in 1978, the Elkridge Prehistoric Village Archaeological Site was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Located on the tidewaters of the Patapsco River in Anne Arundel County, this site was home to Native Americans dating back to 1800 B.C., according to the Maryland Historical Trust.

Today is the second and final day of Columbia’s event. The festival runs from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will likely cause traffic delays around Merriweather Post Pavilion. If you'd rather stay local, there are a handful of going on right here in Elkridge.

Temperatures in Elkridge should hover in the low 80s today, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., there’s a 20 percent chance of rain, reported the NWS, and the likelihood of thunderstorms after 10 p.m. is 60 percent.
