Police Search for Copper Thief and Indecent Exposure Reported in Howard County

Elkridge

Residential burglary

Someone broke into a home in the 5800 block of Timberview Drive sometime between June 16 and June 26. Copper piping was reported stolen.

Someone smashed the front door of Meineke Car Care Center on the 3400 block of North Chatham Road on June 27 at about 11 p.m. Nothing was reported stolen.

On June 28, someone used a rock to smash the front door of Midas on the 9400 block of Baltimore National Pike at about 12:20 a.m. The cash drawer was reported stolen.

Residential burglary

A resident of the 9000 block of Town and Country Boulevard noticed jewelry, baseball caps and car keys were missing from her apartment. The victim said someone may have entered through an open window sometime between June 22 and June 29.

Jessup

Commercial burglary

Someone cut the lock off of the security fence at H & E Equipment Services in the 7400 block of Montevideo Road sometime between 8 p.m. June 26 and 4 a.m. the next day.  The gate was open enough for a truck to drive through, according to police, but nothing was reported stolen.

Indecent exposure

Police say they were called to a bus stop in the 7800 block of Pocomoke Ave. on June 28 at abut 8 p.m. where there was a report of a man in a silver Dodge Ram 1500 who was exposing himself. The man got out of his truck with a white t-shirt covering his face and continued to expose himself in the parking lot. Police could not find the man.

Columbia

Robbery/attempted robbery 

Two juveniles approached a victim on the 10400 block of Hickory Ridge Road on June 29 at about 4 p.m. The two assaulted the victim then demanded money. When they found no money in the victim’s pockets, they ran away.

Four males assaulted an intoxicated man on the 10900 block of Little Patuxent Parkway on June 30 at about 4:45 p.m. and stole his wallet, money, credit cards and drivers license.

Indecent exposure

Police arrested a juvenile after a suspect alerted a bike patrol officer to an indecent exposure in the 5400 block of Harpers Farm Road on June 27 at 11:35 a.m. Police broadcast the juvenile’s description and the suspect was found in a nearby apartment complex.

Laurel

Residential burglary 

Police said someone entered a home on the 9800 block of Garden Ranges on June 29 at about 9:50 a.m. The burglar entered through a basement sliding door.

 Sykesville

 Residential burglary

Officers responded to a call for a break in on June 29 at about 2:10 a.m. in the 13300 block of Forsythe Road. When police arrived, they learned that the front door had been unlocked. Officers cleared the home; no one was inside.  

County-wide vehicle thefts

A 2009 Subaru Impreza with the tags: MD 4AX1705 was reported stolen from the 5400 block of Sleeping Dog Lane on July 1.

A 1998 Toyota truck with the tags: MD 318162 was reported stolen from the 6300 block of Shipley Court on June 27.

A Penske truck with the tags: MD 2AP0843 was reported stolen from the 8800 block of Corridor Road on June 27.

A 2008 Toyota Camry with the tags: MD A102692 was reported stolen from the 5500 block of Hunting Horn on June 28.
