Development Discussions from County to State: Elkridge Today

Landfill Information Session 

Tonight there will also be a workshop on the Alpha Ridge Landfill’s gas-to-energy project, held at Marriotts Ridge High School (12100 Woodford Drive) in Marriottsville from 6–8 p.m.

A group of "concerned citizens for a SAFE Alpha Ridge” in western Howard County opposes the proposal on grounds that it will release known carcinogens and Howard County does not test air quality to monitor this, according to the Woodmark community’s website.

Plan Maryland Presentation

Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley will accept “Plan Maryland” today in Annapolis, a guide for land use that the Maryland Department of Planning has been developing.

The presentation today by O’Malley is “only the beginning of a months-long process” that will be "the subject of more public hearings,” according to the Washington Times, which interviewed the governor's spokesperson for its report.
