  • Northrop Grumman announced that 145 workers in Elkridge will lose their jobs over the next few months as a contract with the postal service ends, reported by the Baltimore Sun.
  • The intermodal facility that may be coming down the CSX tracks to Howard County got a bit of media attention this week. Not sure what an "intermodal facility" is?   • Elkridge resident Cathy Hudson testified against allowing developers to double the amount of residential units in the Ashbury Court complex on US-1 near MD-175. According to the Howard County Times, Hudson cited additional density without added infrastructure as problematic for an already crowded area.
  • These two Elkridge athletes got shout-outs around the country:
         * Darryl Webb, a forward for Indiana University of Pennsylvania, made the State Farm Division II All-American Basketball team, reported by the Courier-Journal (Kentucky/Indiana).
        * Lacrosse player Drew Hammer helped Wesley College secure a win against Oswego State with a score, reported by WBOC-16 (Delaware).
