Elkridge Today: Will Duplexes Replace Historic Home?

The Historic District Commission will discuss a proposal to demolish a 19th-century home in Harwood Park.

Tonight the Historic District Commission will discuss a Harwood Park home from the 19th century that could be torn down. A developer has proposed demolishing the home at 6615 Highland Avenue and erecting two duplexes in its place. According to the meeting agenda, "Staff recommends the Applicant consider saving the historic house. However, if the Applicant decides to proceed with demolition, the County Architectural Historian will document the house prior to demolition." The Historic District Commission meeting will be at 7 p.m. at 3430 Courthouse Drive in Ellicott City.
