Six reasons to wear your seatbelt in Howard County this month.

Buckle up! Howard County announced on Wednesday that police will be doing six rounds of seatbelt patrols during the month of November. They’ll be looking to see if you're restrained (in your vehicle) at night. According to the department, six of nine people who have died in crashes this year in Howard County weren’t wearing seatbelts.

The high is 63 degrees and the low is 44 in Elkridge today, according to the National Weather Service.

Yesterday, an online petition to the White House to make high school start times later in the day fell short of obtaining the 5,000 signatures it needed to become a federal issue. Two mothers of Wilde Lake High School students said that they thought early start times contributed to depression in high schoolers and conflicted with their biological needs, during a at Elkridge Landing Middle School on Oct. 29.
