Members of Howard County’s Board of Education are hitting the road to reach out to residents today. They will be at  at 9:30 a.m.

“‘ are usually very informal,” said Patti Caplan, spokeswoman for the Howard County Public School System, responding to an inquiry from Patch about the nature of the event. “It's a great opportunity to ask questions or bring up anything of interest.”

As of midnight, the event was still scheduled to occur although the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a winter weather advisory for Howard County and most of central Maryland. To check on the status of weekend activities at schools, call 410-313-6666 after 7:15 a.m.

If you venture out of the house, hold onto your hat—your winter hat, that is. On Friday,  of snow but have since scaled back predictions, particularly for areas near I-95. As of Saturday morning, the NWS stated that two to four inches of snow could fall in the area by late Saturday afternoon.

Daytime temperatures will be in the low 40s in Elkridge and may drop to 29 degrees at night, reported the NWS.
