Elkridge Today: September 23

Heavy rain is headed our way, and a new season starts today.

A flash flood watch is in effect for Howard County and much of Maryland. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecast between 2 to 4 inches of rain, with the brunt of it east of the I-95 corridor. The NWS issued the watch at 8:18 a.m. Friday; it lasts through the evening.

Heavy rain could reduce visibility to half a mile, cautioned the NWS. Afternoon thunderstorms may also cause damaging wind gusts.

It’s the first day of fall! Elkridge Patch wishes everyone a happy autumn.
