Nighttime Lane Closures on 295

The State Highway Administration will be doing demolition work on bridges, closing lanes near I-695 and I-195 this weekend.

Lanes on MD 295 will be closed during off hours this weekend as the State Highway Administration (SHA) works on overpasses near Nursery Road and Hammonds Ferry Road.

This project is part of an effort to restore the walls and stone facades of the Nursery Road and Hammonds Ferry bridges in Anne Arundel County, according to the SHA.

“While the work area is limited in scope, lane closures must begin prior to the work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and workers,” stated the SHA in a news release.

Motorists traveling on these stretches of MD 295—and the SHA estimates there are more than 90,000 daily—should take alternate routes like I-95, I-97, US 1 or US 29, said the release. SHA also advised that people traveling to BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport should consider these alternate routes.
