Flurries Spotted in Elkridge

Light to moderate snow will fall until 10 p.m. on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

After 60-degree temperatures on Saturday, it’s snowing in Elkridge on Monday afternoon.

The Washington metropolitan region—including Howard, Anne Arundel, Prince George's and Montgomery counties plus parts of Virginia—will see light to moderate snow showers mixed with light rain until about 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

While the National Weather Service said that the precipitation would leave a  “light dusting,” it also stated that “moderate bursts of snow will lead to minor accumulation on roadways.”

Tips for safe winter driving from the State Highway Administration:

  • Buckle your seatbelt.
  • Take it slow and increase following distance, especially on ramps and bridges, which freeze first.
  • Move your foot off the gas if your vehicle starts to skid, and turn the wheel in the direction you're skidding.
