Howard County: Watch for Torrential Rain, Strong Winds

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for the afternoon and evening, citing severe storms.

Severe storms are on the way, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

The NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of central Maryland, including Howard County, at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, effective through the afternoon and into the evening.

Storms are moving southeast from Carroll County—heading for Baltimore, Howard and Anne Arundel counties—according to officials.

“Torrential rainfall and gusty winds of 30 mph can be expected,” said the report.

If you’re driving, note that visibility may be limited and water could “pond on roadways,” said the NWS.
