Weather Alert Issued for Howard Friday Morning

Storm moving through Howard, Anne Arundel and several other counties.

A "line of heavy rain showers" is moving along the I-95 corridor at approximately 80 mph, reported the National Weather Service (NWS) at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Through 11 a.m., the NWS urged drivers in Howard, Anne Arundel, Baltimore and several other jurisdictions to use caution on the roads, as winds may gust as fast as 30 mph and downpours will reduce visibility.

Driving in heavy rain can lead to hydroplaning, and Maryland's Emergency Management Agency said that drivers can reduce the risk of their vehicles spinning out by simply slowing down.
