Sleet Over Elkridge

The National Weather Service (NWS) advised that icy patches may have developed on roadways after the sleet and rain from earlier today.

Temperatures will remain near freezing, said the NWS, so be careful near bridges and overpasses, areas that are prone to icy patches.

Scattered snow showers may pass through Howard County overnight, which the NWS reported could leave a light dusting.

Up to an inch of snow may fall by this evening in central Maryland, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Just before 7 p.m., the NWS reported that the snow which has been falling along with rain since late this afternoon was tapering off and should stop by 9 p.m.

Howard County sent an alert to residents that roads may be slippery where precipitation has accumulated, via its  system.

Temperatures will stay in the low 30s, according to the NWS.

A wintry mix is sprinkling central Maryland, and snowfall began in Elkridge shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday.

Less than half an inch of accumulation is anticipated by officials at the National Weather Service (NWS), who said that most snowfall in Elkridge would come between 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.

Rain is in the forecast through noon Sunday, said the NWS, with a few hundredths of an inch accumulating.

Temperatures are projected to remain in the 30s and 40s Saturday evening.
