Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Howard County

The National Weather Service says hail possible.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Howard County and much of the state through 10 p.m. Monday.
 
"Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening," the service warns. "Thunderstorms will be capable of producing locally damaging wind gusts and large hail."

Forecasters expect the worst of the weather to pass through the area before 9 p.m.

The chance of precipitation Monday afternoon and evening stands at about 60 percent, with less than an inch of rainfall expected. Higher amounts may be seen in areas affected by thunderstorms.

The forecast calls for an overnight low of around 70 degrees. More thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon, with a daytime high of about 93 degrees.
