Winter Storm Watch Changed to Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service says 1-3 inches of snow is possible for Howard County Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Howard County and much of the DC and Baltimore region, starting at 10 a.m. Thursday.

The previously issued Winter Storm Watch for Howard County has been canceled. According to the advisory, 1-3 inches of snow is possible for Howard County.

Occasional rain this morning is expected to mix with and then change to snow early this afternoon. Periods of snow are possible in the late afternoon and evening, during the evening rush hour.

A winter weather advisory for snow means "that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties," according to the weather service. "Be prepared for snow-covered roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving."
