Funeral Set for Jeffrey Nichols, 19, of Elkridge

Arrangements have been made for Friday, Nov. 18, to memorialize the man killed in a police shooting.

A funeral is set for Nov. 18 for Jeffrey Dustin Nichols, 19, of Grouse Road in Elkridge.

Nichols after being on Nov. 7 when he refused to drop a weapon that officials said turned out to be a pellet gun.

Nichols was said by family members to be a lover of animals and bright academically. He aspired to be an engineer, according to his uncle.

Friends of Nichols said his life was clouded by bipolar disorder, a diagnosis relatives said was made a month before his death.

Nichols is survived by his parents, Kenneth W. Nichols and Laurie L. Williams; siblings James D. and Samantha L. Nichols; and grandparents Geraldine Nichols and Margaret Williams, according to Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home.

Viewing will be from 3–5 p.m. and from 7–9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at in Ellicott City.

The funeral service will be from 10–11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at in Catonsville.

Interment will be from 11:30–11:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at in Elkridge.
