Ambulance from Elkridge Heads East

Elkridge-based business won contract in eastern Maryland.


Elkridge will be sending an ambulance to eastern Maryland, reported the Worcester County Times on Thursday.

Leaders in Pocomoke City voted to award Elkridge-based  the contract for the town's new ambulance, said the article.

FESCO, which operates out of a headquarters near S. Hanover Rd., provides firetrucks and emergency squad vehicles to counties, hospitals, fire departments and other agencies. On its long list of clients are the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department, Ellicott City Fire Department and a multitude of companies across Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and Washington, D.C.

The  purchased one of its ambulances from FESCO in 2002.

Federal money is funding the $169,483 ambulance for Pocomoke City, which will be delivered in the next three to four months, according to the Worcester County Times.
