Police Seek Hanover Bank Robbery Suspect

A man robbed Capital Bank on Ridge Road Friday afternoon, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Anne Arundel police are searching for a man who they say robbed a Hanover bank Friday afternoon.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. on July 27, a man entered Capital One bank on the 7500 block of Ridge Road and passed a note to a teller demanding money, according to a statement from the Anne Arundel County Police Department (AACPD).

The teller gave an undisclosed amount of money to the man, who subsequently left in the direction of Safeway on Arundel Mills Boulevard, said police.

AACPD responded to a holdup alarm from the bank and enlisted helicopters and police dogs in the search after learning the man had left.

Police said they could not locate the suspect, whom they described as a black male in his 40s, standing 5'9" to 6' tall, weighing 200 pounds, with a full beard and mustache. He was reportedly wearing a black baseball hat, dark sunglasses, a long-sleeve T-shirt that was light in color with a multi-colored design, light-colored pants and boots Friday afternoon.
