Burglar Steals Lunch: Crime Roundup

Elkridge 

Burglary

Someone broke into a home on the 5900 block of Old Washington Blvd. late the night of April 25 or early the next morning, according to police. The burglar forced open a back door and stole two bags that were hanging on the wall, within arms reach of the door. One of the bags was a purse; the other, the resident’s lunch.

Ellicott City

Burglary

A resident returned home to the 8900 block of Town and Country on April 19 to find the front door had been unlocked, according to police. There were no signs of forced entry, but jewelry and sunglasses were reported stolen.

Someone broke into a home on the 3300 block of Coventry Court Drive on April 29 between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. by prying open a basement door, according to police. A bedroom was ransacked and jewelry was reported stolen.

Laurel

Street robbery 

Police say a masked man with a gun robbed two people as they were parking on the 9000 block of North Laurel Road on Sunday, April 28 at about 2:15 a.m. The robber stole money and a wallet from the two victims who drove off, but then drove back to the scene of the robbery to call the police. The suspect is described as a masked, black man with a gun wearing a baggy, gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Burglary

Someone told police that they saw someone entering a foreclosed home on the 9300 block of Cross Timbers on April 26 at about noon. Police said when they checked out the scene they found both the front and back door were unlocked. 

Sometime between April 26 and April 29, someone entered a house that was under construction on the 8600 block of Harmony Lane in Laurel, according to police. The burglar stole a gas range.

Jessup

Commercial burglary

Sometime between 11 a.m. on April 23 and 11 a.m. April 25, someone cut a hole in the back fence of Tate Access Floors on the 7500 block of Montevideo Road, according to police.

Someone entered an unlocked garage on the 8000 block of Wright Place on April 27 and stole a kid’s bike, according to police. 

Columbia

Burglary/Attempted burglary 

Someone broke into an unlocked vehicle on the 11000 block of Thistle Brook Court sometime late the night of April 25 or early the next morning, according to police. The burglar got to the vehicle through an open garage door; cash, credit cards, computer equipment and a GPS unit were reported stolen from the vehicle.

Police say someone entered an open garage on the 8600 block of Hayshed Lane on April 26 between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. and stole a bike. 

On April 26 between 10 and 10:30 p.m. someone tampered with a basement window at a home on the 10600 block of Green Mountain Circle. Police say there was also a small cut on a window screen, but no one got in the home.

On April 29, residents reported someone had broken into a ground-level apartment on the 5200 block of Cedar Lane and taken clothes from the dresser, damaged them and then put them under the bed. There were no signs of forced entry, according to police.

County-wide vehicle thefts:

A white, 1995 Ford E-250 with the license plate: VA TU91787 was stolen from the 8300 block of Patuxent Rante Road on April 26 

A 1993 van with the license plate: PA PT3907P was stolen from the 7100 block of Dorsey Run Road on April 26 

A white 2002 Toyota Tundra was stolen from the 9500 block of North Laurel Road on April 27

A green Dodge Dakota with the license plate MD 3AM7148 was stolen from the 8300 block of Linda Court on April 27
