Chick-fil-A Flasher in Columbia, Break-Ins Connected in Elkridge

Recent crime reports in and around Elkridge.

A man exposed himself in the parking lot of a the day after Christmas, according to police.

The indecent exposure at the  was reported at 8:23 p.m. on Dec. 26.

"A citizen complained that this person was flashing people in the parking lot," said Elizabeth Schroen, spokeswoman for Howard County Police Department, in a phone interview. "People who saw it occur called police and provided a description of the vehicle."

The alleged flasher drove away and was stopped by police at 8:51 p.m. on MD Route 100 at US 29.

Police charged a Windsor Mill man with indecent exposure, DUI and DWI on Dec. 27; he has court dates set for March 2012.

String of Elkridge Break-Ins May Be Connected

A string of December break-ins at Scarlet Oaks are being investigated as related, said police. 

Keys were stolen from a detached garage on the 6900 block of Linden Avenue on Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. The intruder, who was known by the property owner, broke a door to get inside.

The previous day, in connection with a break-in on the same block. "It is believed to be related," said Schroen.

Police are also investigating the Linden Avenue break-ins as related to another incident, reported on Dec. 11, a few blocks away.

In that case, copper wire and fittings were stolen from a detached shed on the 6900 block of Magnolia Avenue.
