Copper Wires Reportedly Stolen: Elkridge and Howard County Crime Roundup

Commercial Burglary - Dorsey Run Road

Conductor wire and bare copper wire were stolen from Midasco Inc. after someone entered a fenced area through an open gate and cut heavy duty locks on two storage containers sometime between Dec. 14 and Dec. 17.

Columbia

Residential Burglary - Evening Wind Court

A person or persons gained entry to a residence near the 10700 block of Evening Wind Court through a front window, ransacked a master bedroom and reportedly stole two white gold diamond rings sometime between Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.

Home Invasion - Eastwind Way

 Three men, one armed with a handgun, barged into a residence near the 10500 block of Eastwind Way on Dec. 19 around 10 p.m. and held two of the residents inside their family room while one of the men ransacked the bedroom. The three men fled when a third resident inside the home called police. Nothing was reported stolen and no one was injured. Read more on Columbia Patch.

Home Invasion - Summber Blosson Lane

Three masked men, one armed with an assault rifle, entered a home near the 7500 block of Summer Blossom Lane and ordered two victims to the ground. Inside, the suspects took cash, Nike shoes, prescription medication and a pit bull puppy. A third victim, who was sleeping downstairs, had a wallet, cell phone and money stolen. The incident occurred on Dec. 17 around 2 a.m. Read more on Columbia Patch.

Commercial Burglary - Swift Stream Place

A storage room was broken into at Town Center apartments on Dec. 19. It's unknown if anything was stolen.

Vandalism - Blandair Park

A small window on the door to the press box was broken sometime between 5 p.m. on Dec. 18 and 6 a.m. on Dec. 19. It's unknown if anything was stolen.

Residential Burglary - Wetbanks Court

Jewelry, a laptop and a tablet were stolen from a home near the 8900 block of Wetbanks Court between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Dec. 18. Police reported entry was gained through an unlocked dining room window.

Residential Burglary - Tidesebb Court

A person or persons broke into a residence near the 8800 block of Tidesebb Court by removing a rear window screen and breaking the window's glass. The residence was ransacked and jewelry was stolen on Dec. 19.

Residential Burglary - Columbia Road

A witness saw a person entering a residence near the 5300 block of Columbia Road through a broken window on Dec. 19 around 8:30 p.m. When police arrived, no one was in the apartment and nothing was reported missing.

Residential Burglary Attempt - Evening Wind Court

Someone attempted to gain entry to a residence near the 10700 block of Evening Wind Court by prying open the front door around 11 a.m. on Dec. 18.

Residential Burglary - Greathead Court

A resident returned to her home near the 5400 block of Greathead Court to find her doork unlocked and her laptop missing on Dec. 18 around 7:30 p.m.

Ellicott City

Residential Burglary - Triadelphia Road

Jewelry, three shotguns and a black powder gun were reported stolen from a residence near the 11800 block of Triadelphia Road on Dec. 17 around 4 p.m.

Residential Burglary - Dorsey Hall Drive

A resident of a senior living community located near the 5300 block of Dorsey Hall Dr. reported missing costume jewelry and expensive scarves from her apartment around 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 19.

Commercial Burglary - 8800 Columbia 100 Parkway

A man used a tool to pry open a suite door near the 8800 block of Columbia 100 Parkway on Dec. 17, but employees confronted the man and he fled the business. Police described the suspect as a black male, 35, about 5-feet-7, 170 pounds wearing a gray hoodie and jeans.

Residential Burglary - River Falls Court

Someone entered an open garage at a residence near the 2900 block of River Falls Court and stole a purse from the mud room between 5:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on Dec. 18.

Catburglary - Madeline Court

Someone entered a residence near the 9800 block of Madeline Court and stole a wallet and laptop sometime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Dec. 17.

Catburglary - Grosvenor Drive

Two laptops were reported stolen from a residence near the 3700 block of Grosvenor Drive overnight on Dec. 17.

Just down the road, a wallet, change and a basket of miscellaneous items were taken from a residence near the 3800 block of Grosvenor Drive sometime overnight between Dec. 16 and Dec. 17.

Residential Burglary - Old Frederick Road

A small amount of jewelry was stolen from a residence near the 8800 block of Old Frederick Road. Police believe someone gained entry through an unlocked rear door between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 17.

Breaking and Entering - Normandy Woods Drive

Four to five juvenile males were observed attempting to force their way into a vacant apartment near the 3200 block of Normandy Woods Drive in the evening on Dec. 17. Responding officers found six people in the hallway when they arrived, but there were no signs of forced entry and the windows and sliding doors were locked.
