Elkridge Best Buy Security Guard Bound - Howard County Crime Roundup

The following information was supplied by the Howard County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Elkridge

Commercial Burglary – Best Buy Warehouse – Business Parkway

A female security guard sitting outside the Best Buy warehouse near the 6600 block of Business Parkway was reportedly bound by two suspects after they broke into her vehicle by smashing the driver’s side window. Police reported the suspects told the victim they were going to take equipment from Best Buy. After hearing the suspects leave, the victim was able to untie herself and call 911. Investigators found the building and trailers secure and nothing missing.

  • Suspect 1: Black male, 5’9”, thick build, wearing black skull hat, black mask, blue coat, black pants and black gloves
  • Suspect 2: Black male, 5’6”, thin build, wearing all black

Commercial Burglary – 6900 O’Conner Drive

A rear window was smashed at Stolar Construction near the 6900 block of O’Conner Driver, but a representative of the business found nothing missing or disturbed around 10 p.m. on Nov. 30.

Columbia

Armed Robbery – Hayshed Lane

Three unknown suspects armed with a handgun reportedly struck a male victim and stole an iPod near the 8800 block of Hayshed Lane on Nov. 30 at approximately 5 p.m.

Robbery – Cloudleap Court

A male victim was allegedly assaulted by two suspects who demanded money near the 8700 block of Cloudleap CT around 3:49 p.m. on Dec. 2. The victim resisted the two male suspects and prevented them from taking anything. One suspect was described as a Hispanic male, 30-35 years old, 5’8”, with black hair and wearing a hoodie and blue jeans. No description of the second suspect was given.

Residential Burglary – Blue Pool

Two guns and money were reported stolen from a closet near the 8900 block of Blue Pool on Nov. 30 between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. after an unknown suspect or suspects gained entry through the front door and ransacked the master bedroom, office, bathroom and closet.

Residential Burglary - Burnt Mountain Path

An unknown suspect or suspects reportedly broke a window pane near the front door of a house on the 6300 block of Burnt Mountain Path to gain entry to a residence and stole watches and jewelry on Dec. 1 between 1:30 and 8:30 p.m.

Juvenile Arrested – Sandchain Road

An unidentified juvenile was arrested for his involvement in two burglaries after he was arrested at the scene of a burglary in progress near the 6300 block of Sandchain Road.

A victim spotted the juvenile in the process of stealing tennis shoes from a residence on Sandchain Road at about 1:30 p.m. on Nov. 30. The victim confronted the suspect, causing the suspect to flee. Police later arrested the suspect, whom the victim knew, and located a laptop charger from a laptop reported stolen in a previous burglary at the same location. The suspect was charged with both burglaries.

Residential Burglary  - Green Mountain Circle

An unknown suspect or suspects reportedly pried open a rear slider to gain entry to a residence near the 5000 block of Green Mountain Circle on Dec. 1 between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. and stole a TV, laptops, a Wii and money.

Residential Burglary - Hickory Ridge Road

Televisions and a DVD player were reported stolen from a residence near the 10000 block of Hickory Ridge Road between Nov. 28 and Dec. 3.

Ellicott City

Armed Robbery – Montgomery Road

Three suspects wielding knives allegedly stole a jacket from a man while he was with his girlfriend near the 4900 block of Montgomery Road on Nov. 30 at 11 p.m. One of the victims identified a suspect as Terrell William Young, 20, no fixed address, who was later arrested by police. Police are searching for the other two suspects.

Residential Burglary – Argent Path

Cash, coins and jewelry were reported stolen from a residence near the 3100 block of Argent Path on Nov. 30 between 7 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. Police reported entry was made by breaking a small hole in a glass door, reaching in and unlocking it.

Residential Burglary - Weatherstone Drive

Nothing was reported stolen after an unknown suspect or suspects kicked open a locked sliding glass door at a residence near the 2700 block of Weatherstone Drive on Dec. 1 between 8 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.

Residential Burglary - Town and Country Blvd

A laptop was reported stolen from the 8700 block of Town and Country Blvd between Nov. 11 and Nov. 27.

Residential Burglary – Kidwell Place

An alarm was pulled off the wall and the master bedroom was ransacked when an unknown suspect or suspects stole cash and jewelry from a residence near the 2600 block of Kidwell Place on Dec. 1 at approximately 7 p.m.

Residential Burglary – Robin Lynn Drive

An unknown suspect or suspects reportedly stole jewelry from a residence near the 10800 block of Robin Lynn Drive after gaining entry by smashing the rear sliding glass door between 2 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

Commercial Burglary – Patrick’s Hair Design – Red Branch Road

Money was reportedly stolen from a register after a suspect or suspects gained entry to Patrick’s Hair Design near the 9100 block of Red Branch Road by throwing a rock through the front glass door on Dec. 1 around midnight.

Commercial Burglary – Lights Out – Red Branch Road

Like the burglary at Patrick’s, the unknown suspect or suspects threw a rock through the front glass door of the business to gain entry and then stole money from the office on Dec. 1 around midnight.

Woodstock

Residential Burglary Attempt – Woodstock Road

The victim called police after being awakened by a dog barking and heard talking outside the residence near 1800 Woodstock Road on Nov. 30 at approximately 1:10 p.m. Police reported an unknown suspect or suspects attempted to gain entry through a basement door, but were unsuccessful.

County Vehicle Thefts

A 2002 black Chevy Monte Carlo was reported stolen from the 10100 block of High Ridge Road on Dec. 1

A 2001 green Honda Accord was reported stolen near the 9400 block of Timesweep Lane on Dec. 1.

A 2001 blue Suzuki TL was reported stolen near the 82400 block of Preston Court on Dec. 2.

A red Peterbilt dump truck was reported stolen near the 11000 block of Guilford Road on Dec. 3.
